TAC Members and other interested folks:
You are invited to attend on April 10th, 2007 the Second Meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee for development of, “Wildlife Habitat Planning and Best Management Practices Document for Florida Communities and Landowners”. The meeting will be held in the first floor conference room (Conference Room A) of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Marjory Stoneman Douglas Building in Tallahassee. Meeting starts at 9:00 and will go till 3:30pm with and 12 to 1:00 lunch.
Yes, it has been a while since the first TAC meeting (September 2006), nevertheless, we have been working to developing the background materials for the document, making various trips to example sites and using the related web site: www.floridahabitat.org to help us collect and organize materials. Draft “strawman” chapters for the document’s Introduction and the Transportation chapters have been prepared and will be emailed to each of you later next week with the agenda (in fact a very draft Transportation Chapter is attached FYI now). We are trying to focus this TAC on comments relevant to these two chapters, provide and update of where the project is to date and what we hope to accomplish over the coming months.
Presently, the volume of materials we have had to collect and digest has been extensive and quite time consuming. When you get the DRAFT STRAWMAN Chapters you will notice that they represent an assemblage of a lot of other people’s work that we have incorporated and are now beginning boil down to the more essential and useful elements for the purposes of this document. Your comments, thoughts and redirects are always most welcome.
